What to expect when you are expecting (What to expect when you are a Manchester United Fan- Arrivals) (Summer Transfer Window Ending September 01 2025)
✅ Already Completed
-
Matheus Cunha: Striker signed from Wolverhampton Wanderers for around £62.5 million
-
Diego León: Paraguayan left-back arriving from Cerro Porteño (~£3.3 million, possibly rising to £7m)
🔄 Main Transfer Targets
1. Matheus Cunha (Wolverhampton Wanderers)
United made him the top priority and signed very early, just as the transfer market officially started.
United made him the second top priority, and at 30M Pounds, he was certainly a steal. Sadly, lost him out to Chelsea.
3. Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford, Winger/Forward)
Main Genuine Interest after Liam Delap, United have turned their attention to Bryan Mbeumo, who can play both as a RAM and CF.
Reported interest in him; a fee of roughly £55–65 million is being discussed.
Mbuemo wants United just like Cunha. Spurs Interest is mostly smoke because player wants Manchester United. Spurs will get the player only if United retreat fully or fall well below valuation.
4. Viktor Gyökeres (Sporting CP, Striker)
-
United fans made him (out to be) a top priority, as he has worked under Ruben Amorim before.
-
Sporting reportedly value him at ~£60–70 million, though Gyökeres may prefer a move to Arsenal, which is his first preference.
Whole link was smoke, Amorim already kinda rejected the notion of signing Gyokeres when he was asked earlier in the season
Personally would be surprised if this move was to happen. United have an excellent relationship with Sporting, Amorim with Gyokeres also, and any proposed move should have happened much earlier if it were to happen.
5. Victor Osimhen (Napoli )
-
No PL club in reality want to sign this mercurial player, low key blacklisted and unreasonable demands from his camp have given him a problematic reputation.
- Man wants Saudi Level Wages and Europe, while his own club Napoli and Antonio Conte don't want him. Good luck Victor.
- Man is not in a good situation and wants to risk playing power games with possible suitors. Will possibly end up at Galatasaray or Saudi.
6. Hugo Ekitiké (Eintracht Frankfurt, Striker)
-
There's a small chance club could see what could be done with Hugo Ekitike. But I'm personally sure United won't pay the whole transfer fee being asked: €100 million (£85 million). United are not desperate for a striker. Main Priority is Bryan Mbeumo and United is not good at multitasking, especially when 0 sales have been made. They will probably focus on Strikers once some outgoings/sales are done. Very similar figures and story with Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig).
7. Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth, Winger) + Tyler Dibling (Southamption, winger)
-
United are keeping this players in briefs, to negotiate better with Brentford. To lose out Mbeumo for these players would be a travesty. Mbeumo is the real deal.
- A Brilliant player who United should really look at. All present links are purely smoke. Nothing serious in the player as of now.
- Manchester United is less likely to look at Midfielders, especially without sales. It looks like United is likely to overspend on key targets. And as of now, with what I know, there are no key midfield targets. Situation may change post sales. But all interest now is premature or towards the smoke section. No actual fire.
- One of the rare players in 2025 who has a striker's instinct in the box. Not great with the ball. But what he possesses is truly rare. It's very hard to coach. There are rumours linking him to United but they are only rumours as of now.
- If United is desperate for a Striker, he could be the guy later in the window.
- His camp is trying badly for a Top club since a while. They could get that move this Summer, but not sure if it's to United. Too early to make a say.
