What to expect when you are expecting (What to expect when you are a Manchester United Fan- Departures) (Summer Transfer Window Ending September 01 2025)
Premise: Journalism is all about bringing the truth to light or light to the truth (both work to be honest). It's not about wishful thinking. This post is for those who want to see a realistic model sans the fake hopium which is often served in ad-supported websites and channels that farm on low-quality data, wishful thinking, fun imaginations, and baseless nonsense. I will keep it as real as possible here. Mostly tapins like Fabrizio (But they work, and he is much more reliable because he knows how to aggregate information and he is the probably 95 percentile or better in that, in the whole world in his niche)

🔄 Almost Certain Departures
1. Alejandro Garnacho – Strongly advised to seek a transfer by the coach; with a hefty £60–£70m price tag, His career looks all but over at United. Jr CR7 (not to be confused with CR7 Jr) is looking for a manager like Ten Hag who can show him more love and create a team around him. Amorim certainly doesn't fancy that idea. With the right circumstances, he can grow on to be a better player, a better teammate and a better person. But not at United. Decision made.2. Jadon Sancho – Not in the club's plans, £40–£50m asking price. Will be super hard to get rid of Freedom Fighta. This is real jail for Sanchester. Mandela had it easy.
Possible Destination: Borussia Dortmund or some Golf course. Who else would like to bet on Sancho. Certainly noone from PL paying his incredulous wages.
3. Marcus Rashford – Frozen out, recently on loan at Aston Villa, expected to depart permanently. Man still sees Barcelona in his dreams every day. Cristiano (or his fans rather) : "Et tu Marcus"? Would settle for any other big club in a similar stature but doesn't want Aston Villa because he thinks he deserves better. Will train hard this summer and do everything to move on from United. A top quality player at his day but sadly no way back on his United Career. Sad it ended this way.
4. Antony – The most professional guy on the list, departure seems imminent. £40–£50m asking price. Probably the most marketable person on the list here. Can be a great addition to Spanish, German and Italian teams. Man will feast vs slower defences. This guy will fight till the last.
Real Betis wants the player, they could offer a loan fee+buy agreement, because they can in no way afford the player directly due to his last huge transfer. They really like the player for whom Antony played on loan last season and impressed.
🔄 Confirmed Departures:
Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelöf, Jonny Evans – All older squad midfield/defensive options being released—Eriksen and Evans confirmed released; Lindelöf also. Heaton is expected to renew for another year. (1-year contract).
🧳Other Players (with some hot takes):
Casemiro – High wages (about £350k/week) but coach is happy with the player and his efforts in the second half of United's season. Great attitude and a leader in the dressing room. Commands respect and is expected to complete his contract. No moves will be made to force his sale. Player and entourages are very happy at Manchester. Coach also doesn't want to force him out by any means.
Kobbie Mainoo – Contract renewal stalled; could fetch around £70 m and ease midfield congestion if offers in that region come by. One of the best talents to come out from Carrington recently, probably the best. But his contract demands have made the situation tricky atleast in the short term. There is a small chance the player could be sold if it suits all parties.
Rasmus Hojlund – Struggled on the pitch; expects himself to stay and fight atleast for one more year to prove himself.
Harry Maguire- won the respect of most stakeholders and fans. Manchester United will trigger a one-year extension to Harry Maguire's contract to keep the defender at Old Trafford until the end of the 2025-26 season. Not expected to be sold.
Andre Onana: Blamed for errors leading to goals; fans and analysts view him as underwhelming . I personally understand the coach is in no hurry to replace Onana. Believe INEOS aren't happy with the player either mostly because he is seen as a symbol of Ten Hag era, and to be honest his performances haven't helped a lot. Would be actually shocked to see him replaced. Because the risk to reward ratio isn't exciting, changing goalkeeper is seen as an unnecessary expense because there are even more concerning areas to fix and improve.
Luke Shaw: Luke Shaw now features prominently among those fans want sold due to his persistent fitness issues, diminished on-field impact, and perceived detachment—especially compared to younger, fitter alternatives. Very hard to sell Luke Shaw in reality. Expected to stay till end of contract (till 2027) and leave.
Lisandro Martinez: Lisandro Martínez joins the growing list of players facing fan disapproval and scrutiny. While he showed promise earlier, persistent errors, doubts over his suitability to the current tactics, and a major injury have made many supporters and pundits open to the idea of selling or replacing him this summer. Will be given another chance by the coach next year. He was starting when he was fit and could command a starting place (when and if fit). Won't be sold.
Tyrell Malacia: The player will be looked at; to be moved on this summer preferably on sale or atleast on loan.
